Eman Hussain

When Eman got married, one of her conditions was that her husband change his last name to Hussain, so she could remain a Hussain. And he obliged, making them Eman and Vaail Hussain. KIDDING!! Eman did manage to marry another Hussain, so neither of them needed to change their name. . . and they've had a co-ordinated marriage since November 13, 2005.

She is working as deputy director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Maldives and is head of the U.N. division. She also recently became the owner of a children's toy shop called Tuk Tuk, so all of you with little ones are welcome to drop by (as if we needed an excuse to go to the Maldives!) Her parents and her little twin sisters now live in Singapore.

People she's met since graduation: Nix, Dips, Nayms, Vahbz, Dhruv, Vidur - in NY (while there for the General Assembly summit hehehehe)
Shafu - at her wedding in Male' and after she moved toSingapore
Aji - in Sydney and flew to Melbourne together to visit Shafu (this was ages ago)
Met Lio, Dips, and Arya in london
Looking forward to meeting everyone else - after all, the world is really small and after nine years, we still seem to be hanging out together.

Mia Kofoed-Kristiansen

A blurb from Mia about what's going on in her life.

Just before Christmas my work permit expired and I had not yet received my long-awaited Permanent residency card for Canada. So, with little else to do, I quit my TV job, said bye to friends and packed all my stuff into storage. I'm now living back with my family in Copenhagen. So far, no Danish TV stations, production houses or others recognize my Canadian work experience, so I'm waitressing for the first time since university!

I've been waiting for my visa sinceNovember '05 so I'm hoping it'll come through soon. Immigration, what can I say?! I plan to return toVancouver and continue working in creative business management. Till then, I'm hanging out, baking cakeswith my sister, and venting on my blog !

(In response to queries about rumors that Mia has made movies that have been shown before real audiences!) I have made a few movies in the past. It seems like a long time ago, though. I made some documentaries and shorts while still in university. And I worked on some crappy straight to video action movies together with another company when I first came to Vancovuer..."Premotion" and "Subzero"for Avrio Filmworks The only movie of mine that really hit it off was my 5 minute short film, Icaro. It was playing at the Winnipeg Cinematheque for a season and was in a bunch of festivals, (I even made a profit! who-hoo) but then I left Winnipeg for Vancouver and I became a "little fish in a big pond"and not the other way around anymore!

Announcements

Hello people. . . a few announcements:

Shubra will be visiting New York in late April.

Manolita will be visiting New York around June 2-4.

If anyone in New York who is not in touch with them want to see them, please contact me through the Kodai blog email, and I will put you in touch with them.

Tanushri wants to know if anyone in London plans on organizing a reunion there, so it's easier for those in Europe to go there. . .anyone up for the challenge?

Shafa Shabeer

Shafa has been a married woman since Dec. 18, 2006, when she and fiance Shahdy tied the knot. After putting in crazy hours running around all over the world working for her father's travel company in Male, Maldives, Shafa is finally chilling in Singapore, where her hubby is finishing up his advanced studies. She says she is swimming everyday, studying French and getting some much-needed rest.

Here are some photos from their wedding.
